Colorants for Bath Bombs

Colors that may be used for Bath Bombs

Colored Mica Powder: All may be used except for those that contain Chromium Green and Ultramarine Blue (those 2 are for external use only and may not be used on the lips or bath products you soak in. (showers gels etc OK)

Whites: All whites may be used.

Neons: Yes with the exception of the USA where they are not approved.

Lake Dyes: Yes but you should use them with Polysorbate 80 or another dispersant so they don't stain the tub

Synthetic Mica Powder: All may be used except for those that contain Chromium Green and Ultramarine Blue (those 2 are for external use only and may not be used on the lips or bath products you soak in. (showers gels etc OK)

Clay Powders: Yes. They also add valuable trace minerals to you bath.

Plastic Glitter: NO. Plastic glitter is not approved for cosmetics in the US and banned in the EU during to the environmental impact it causes in our oceans and waterways.

Aluminum Powders: No, not for internal use applications such as lipstick and bath bombs.
